Shotcrete Shoring

Shotcrete Shoring

Shotcrete Shoring, a process that involves spraying concrete at high velocity onto excavation walls to provide immediate structural support.

  • This method enhances stability
  • Reduces soil erosion
  • Accelerates project timelines by eliminating the need for traditional formwork

Our equipment and expertise ensure precise application delivering reliable shoring solutions tailored to your site conditions.

Shotcrete ShoringTraditional Shoring (e.g., Timber Lagging)

Installation

  • Very Fast. Eliminates the time spent cutting, fitting, and securing heavy timber or steel panels.

  • Slower. Requires manual installation of lagging boards piece by piece as excavation progresses.

Adaptability

  • Highly Adaptable. Conforms perfectly to irregular rock faces, tight corners, or uneven dirt walls.

  • Rigid. Difficult to fit tightly against irregular soil profiles, which can leave dangerous voids behind the wall.

Water Control

  • Excellent. Seals the face immediately, blocking minor water seepage and preventing soil erosion.

  • Poor. Water can easily weep through timber gaps, potentially washing out fines (soil particles) behind the lagging.

Longevity

  • Permanent. Durable concrete that can serve as the final basement or retaining wall structure.

  • Temporary. Timber rots over time; usually requires a separate permanent concrete wall to be poured in front of it later.

Cost

  • Higher upfront. Requires specialized equipment (shotcrete rigs) and highly skilled nozzlemen.

Lower upfront. Materials (wood and steel piles) are cheaper, and standard construction crews can install them.
